Ground Floor Brickwork and Blockwork
The following images show the ground floor brickwork and blockwork in construction on a traditional build house. First piles of the concrete blocks and bricks are set out around the perimeter of the house.
The brickwork continues above the blockwork, and an inner wall of blockwork is created.
Sheets of thermal insulation are added between the inner and exterior wall. A layer of DPC (Damp Proof Course) is added to keep water from penetrating the inside of the house.
As the brickwork is built up, window formers are used to hold the position of the windows.
As the brickwork and blockwork get higher, the first lift of scaffolding is used to continue the build.
